Celebrate Maine Seaweed Week and join friends of MOFF, the Maine Aquaculture Association, World Wildlife Fund, and FocusMaine for the world premiere of TENDING THE TIDES, a new short film by Maine Mountain Media.

TENDING THE TIDES follows the inspiring journeys of Maine’s first shellfish and seaweed aquaculture apprentices as they build hands-on careers on the water—gaining essential skills and helping sustain Maine’s working waterfronts. Following the screening, stay for a panel discussion exploring aquaculture in Maine, workforce development through apprenticeship, and the future of this vital industry.

Program Notes:
– This event is part of Maine Seaweed Week – the largest seaweed food and drink festival in North America!
– Come early to enjoy oysters, seaweed cuisine, food from the sea and other refreshments/beverages.
– Please bring ID if you intend to enjoy an adult beverage.
– The event will be inside O’Maine Studios and seating is limited so advance tickets are recommended.
– After the film, stick around for a 45-minute panel featuring protagonists from the film.
– The Aquaculture Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship Program would not be possible without the cooperation and support of SMCC, Educate Maine, Maine Department of Labor and Gulf of Maine Research Institute.

Tickets are $10 in advance/$15 at the door
