Seaweed Row and Seaweed Sauna

Get in the weeds with DoryWoman Rowing during Maine Seaweed Week, April 24-May 3!

Seaweed Row:

Learn about Maine’s favorite weed and this crop’s importance in Maine’s aquaculture industry, while rowing a wooden dory in Belfast Bay. We’ll do a row-by of a local kelp farm. You’ll learn about a variety of seaweed in Maine and enjoy seaweed tea and seaweed-infused treats as part of this experience! Open to all skill-levels, ages 10 and up. You can row or be a passenger.

Seaweed Sauna:

New this year! Follow-up your row with wood-fired heat on the Belfast waterfront with our Seaweed Sauna! Enhance your sauna glow with a salty seaweed scrub and seaweed mask. Dip in the harbor to rinse off and cool off, among the abundant rockweed and bladderwrack. Choose Seaweed Sauna as an add-on on our booking form. The Seaweed Sauna can also be booked as a stand-alone experience (meaning, you don’t have to row to sauna).

Sessions and Pricing:

The Seaweed Row will be offered throughout Seaweed Week, in the morning and late afternoon sessions. This row can be booked privately for two or three people or as a mixed group of individuals. Pricing is $105 for individuals, $200 for two people and $300 for three people. Seaweed treats are included in the price. The Seaweed Sauna add-on is $40 pp and includes all seaweed treatments and tea. Seaweed Sauna only: $45.
