Seaweed & Main Street: A Flavorful Jane’s Walk Through Ellsworth

Join Heart of Ellsworth for a Seaweed-Themed Walking Tour celebrating the unique connection between downtown businesses and Maine’s thriving seaweed industry. This event is part of Jane’s Walk, a nationwide festival of free, community-led walking conversations inspired by urbanist Jane Jacobs, and coincides with Maine Seaweed Week, a statewide celebration of seaweed’s many uses in food, wellness, and sustainability. Maine Seaweed Week happening in Ellsworth is sponsored by Maine Coast Sea Vegetables.

For the walking tour, participants will visit local businesses showcasing seaweed-inspired products, from dulse-infused beer to kelp-based skincare and other innovative offerings. Along the way, business owners will share their insights, and participants will have the chance to sample select products.
