Every month, the Blue Hill Co-op features a local artist in the café. You may see paintings, photography, textiles, felted pieces, or any other type of visual art. We’re proud to showcase artists from the Blue Hill Peninsula and to help people find new additions to their personal collections.
In May, the featured show will be “Rockweed Forum Art Show: Floating Filaments”
Fourteen artists have contributed work to the show in a wide range of media (oil, watercolor, photography, collage, pressed seaweed, fiber art, cyanotypes, jewelry, etc). Along our rocky coast seaweeds drape the boulders and ledges of our shoreline with garlands of color and texture attracting the eye of both artist and scientist. It is the hope of the Rockweed Forum that this exhibit will draw attention to the numerous seaweeds that are an integral part of our Maine coast.
The show will run May 1 – 30 with a reception from 3:00 – 5:00 pm on Sunday, May 4th.
