Low Low Tides Seaweed Harvest

Join Smithereen Farm and other curious people for a week of learning, harvesting, processing, and eating seaweed together! This week-long experience covers the ecology and biology of the seaweed ecosystem, hand-harvest techniques, regulations, drying, processing and culmination of the wild algae species that abound in Downeast Maine. Participants can join as either a Harvester (full immersion and get paid to harvest seaweed) or a Learner (July session only, come for a day of education). Workshop fees are sliding scale ($20-$150).
