Seaweed Press Art Class with Turning Tides

Get creative with locally foraged seaweeds in this hands-on art workshop during Seaweed Week. Hosted at Botanically Curious, this relaxed, tea-filled session invites you to explore coastal plant life while creating your own pressed seaweed artwork alongside educators Aubrey (Turning Tides) and Evan (TideMinded).their local ecosystems through species identification, field guides, and hands-on ecological learning.

Participants will pick up their finished pieces the following week—complimentary tea included. No experience needed, just curiosity.

Meet the instructors:

Aubrey is a Maine-based marine scientist who runs a small business offering unique opportunities for hands-on ocean education to tourists and locals of all ages. Through her business, Turning Tides, she coordinates private guided tide pooling sessions with local marine biologists, leads community tide pooling for Mainers, and organizes other fun ocean-centered events. She holds a master’s in marine science from the University of New England and specializes in invertebrate biology.

Evan Montellese is an ecologist with a background in restorative ecology, aquaculture, and invasive species management in coastal ecosystems. He is the founder of TideMinded, an education-centered project focused on connecting communities with
