DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Maine Seaweed Week and join friends of MOFF\, the Maine Aquaculture Association\, World Wildlife Fund\, and FocusMaine for the world premiere of TENDING THE TIDES\, a new short film by Maine Mountain Media. \nTENDING THE TIDES follows the inspiring journeys of Maine’s first shellfish and seaweed aquaculture apprentices as they build hands-on careers on the water—gaining essential skills and helping sustain Maine’s working waterfronts. Following the screening\, stay for a panel discussion exploring aquaculture in Maine\, workforce development through apprenticeship\, and the future of this vital industry. \nProgram Notes:\n– This event is part of Maine Seaweed Week – the largest seaweed food and drink festival in North America!\n– Come early to enjoy oysters\, seaweed cuisine\, food from the sea and other refreshments/beverages.\n– Please bring ID if you intend to enjoy an adult beverage.\n– The event will be inside O’Maine Studios and seating is limited so advance tickets are recommended.\n– After the film\, stick around for a 45-minute panel featuring protagonists from the film.\n– The Aquaculture Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship Program would not be possible without the cooperation and support of SMCC\, Educate Maine\, Maine Department of Labor and Gulf of Maine Research Institute. \nTickets are $10 in advance/$15 at the door
